Refugio Animal Holbox was founded in 2009 to serve and protect the animals of the Holbox community.  Refugio Holbox is the only animal shelter on the island, which means it's always a busy place. We consistently receive new animals in need of medical assistance and love. The shelter provides them with a temporary home while they receive the care they require.

We welcome visitors who want to see the shelter, spend time with the animals, or take the dogs for a walk.
